Hi Sam, I can’t believe I haven’t ‘found you’ before. We custom compose music for running http://www.audiofuel.co.uk. Please can you let me know your email address so I can send you some to try out? Clare

First of all, thanks for the great website! Would love it if you could compile a list of high BPM songs for speedwork and tempo runs (which is when I need them the most
). Right now some of my favorites are “What I like about you” (Romantics), “Time Warp” (Rocky Horror), “The Obvious Child” (Paul Simon), Dancing with Myself (Billy Idol), “By the Monument” (Maximo Park), and “Hey Ya!” (Andre 3000). I don’t know what the BPM are for these tunes, but they keep my cadence about right for the speed. Thanks again!

Hi kristin,
Thanks for your comment. I’m actually working on a list like you mentioned, but the problem is that I keep adding new songs to my database so I have to keep updating it before I can post. I promise it will be posted someday soon.
I’ll definitely take a look at the songs you mentioned, and as for their BPM, see below:
What I like about you: 157 BPM
The Obvious Child: 184 BPM
By the Monument: 162 BPM
For the other songs, just search them on the top right of the site, I already have them in some running playlists.

I have just bought this App and am very disapointed, the note about no updated comes after dounloading the App ( and paying 8.99$!) and non of the songs that are available currently work! in order to receive the new App I need to pay more
I would really like to use this App but at the moment i have paid a lot with no return

Nuphar,
I saw the comment you posted on the site, and I think you misunderstood some things that I’d like to clarify.
There are 2 apps in the app store:
running playlist and running playlist and pace calculator.
In a previous post on the site, I explained that because of some administrative changes, I had to re-launch the app so that’s why there are 2. The only reason the first one (old one) is still there is because there were people who downloaded it in the past and I have to keep it live so they can get the updates.
Once I see that people don’t download updates on that app anymore, I’m going to remove it. That’s also the reason I set the price for it so high, so people don’t buy it and get the other one instead.
It seems like you accidentally bought the old one, so what I suggest you do is call Apple and tell them you accidentally bought it and that you want a refund (if you do want that of course). It’s a very easy and simple process. You can then download the new app which is currently cycling through different pricing options and is free for several days every week.
as for the songs not working, can you tell me what country your iTunes store is in? some countries don’t have music in their itunes store so the app can only give them a list of songs and not the songs themselves. once apple opens a music store in that country the app will also let them get music.

Do you have or recommend any site or app that I can use with a PC?

I’m assuming you’re talking about running playlists/BPM apps, right?
This site has links to both iTunes and Amazon for most of the songs, so you can easily get them there.
There are some PC apps that do BPM analysis, such as an app called “cadence”, but be careful with automated BPM scans because they get around 20-40% of the music wrong.
I use http://www.all8.com/tools/bpm.htm to do my BPM analysis. It’s manual, so if you have a lot of songs it may get tedious after a while, but it works.

so we have to purchase the songs then in your playlists, correct?

Unless you already own the songs you’ll need to buy them if you want them in your playlist.
Thanks for trying my app.
